SAMUEL PROUT PRINTSSamuel Prout (1783-1852) was a watercolourist and painter of topographical and architectural subjects. The central focus of his work was views of old architectural subjects, streets and markets with related groups of foreground figures. He used a broken craggy pencil line and intricate detailing. The prints we have available are dated 1915 and the image size is approximately 5 1/2" X 8". The cost per print is $12.50 which includes shipping within the USA and Canada. Note that the color is not exactly as shown in these images which were taken with plastic covering the prints. There is slight acid damage on the sides and back of these prints due to incorrect mounting and matting techniques. Fortunately however, this has not destroyed the delicacy and charm of the hand-painted water coloring on the printed images. We have chosen to preserve the prints because the original owner personally labeled each print on the paper matboard and on the back of the print.
