FEATURED ARTIST - July 2006Roberto FantiniRoberto Fantini was born in Rome in 1960. He is the son of Maurizio Fantini, one of the "100 Painters of Via Margutta". Fascinated by the art world from childhood, by the age of 14 he was already exhibiting his early works together with those of my father. Fantini went on to study art for 4 years at the "I Liceo Artistico" in Rome.
Fantini's career as an artist led him on travels around Europe, where for 12 years he explored the art world of both Paris and London. His works were shown in various exhibitions and private galleries. He developed and matured professionally through frequent travels in Asia. In Tibet he was inspired to embark on a personal journey which involved the discovery and rediscovery of the origins of mankind, and their spiritual significance.
The evident familiarity and identification with the materials, colors, atmospheres and places closest to man's origins characterize Fantini's artistic research into the visual testimonies (found in rock or cave paintings) of the early inhabitants of the earth.
